April 9, 2015
I am excited, nervous and continually questioning myself about starting a blog.
Hopefully, it will grow into something that is fun for you to read and get inspired by.
After playing with my camera and getting some tips from my friend- the pro, Erin Cobb, I think I am taking some decent shots(she also took the pictures of me, which totally embarrassed me.)
Another friend, Lori Webber, designed my logo. Second to flowers, I can love some birds(one day I will tell you about my bird watching class that I took Spring semester of my senior year in college- binoculars on the quad.Ha.) and of course, she worked one in- I LOVE it.
Buckets and Blooms is just my work in progress. I have not written in years and I’m sure it will be a struggle as well. My husband John, who listens to a podcast called Grammar Girl, has already pointed out my dangling participles. I have no idea what he is talking about.
Taking something that is a hobby (flowers) and documenting it, makes me laugh. I am excited to see where this takes me- how my style will change and grow! What I think is pretty in 2015- will I still think it’s pretty in 2020? Who knows, but what I do know- I love working with flowers and love thinking about working with flowers and planning what’s next!
So Spring seems the perfect time to start writing. All the different color greens popping up all over the place. One of my favorites to watch come up are the hostas. They start as just little green sticks emerging and then one day- you have a huge plant…. like it just happened over night. Creeping jenny is starting to green up again right now too. As I am tooling around town doing the mundane everyday stuff, I am constantly looking for forsythia(now gone) and lady banks roses that are in full bloom. Oh my gosh, next I will look for peonies and hydrangeas and then finally my all time favorite- Dahlias. Spring- it is here!
This is an arrangement that I did with just things from my yard.
5 random tulips that keep showing up each year, lenten roses ,fern,
golden euonymous(which everyone HATES, read about it here!)
azalea – waiting to bloom, loropetalum, and a blooming tree that I have no idea what it is…
I did buy the yellow tulips. And, I used a frog for the very first time!

This is so great!!! Love the pics! Also, this is so random but the painting/photo at back left of one of the pics I feel like a remember at your house in Anniston…is that even possible? Again, great job!!
Thank you! Are you talking about the pastel? That is of my daughter- but the ones of us look way similar- frames and all! That is so crazy that you remember that. I saw your Mom one night when I was home- we were getting Mata’s to go. She was so lovely. Hope you guys are doing well!
